Activities for NAVTI Foundation

Education:
OVC sponsorship:
We shall aim at sponsoring 100 children yearly to go to school in deprived situation. These children could be orphans due to HIV/AIDS or lost either parent or from poor parents.

Computer Education:
We are currently in partnership with Caritas recycling centre HK and Interactive Computing Education Association Hong Kong to collect, repair and donate computers to schools and community based organisations in Cameroon and Africa for educational purposes. We have shipped 1200 computers already and 800 by 2010

Educational/Cultural exchange:
Education tour of Hong Kong students to visit and learn more about African Cameroon cultural diversity, living style and people.

Build schools:
Help develop educational programs We are currently building Government Nursery school Meluf. The Village of Meluf is located 2 km from the municipality of Tobin, in Kumbo town, part of the Bui Division (district), (one of seven divisions) in the North West Province, Cameroon. Seventy-five percent of the population lives in the rural areas and survive on subsistence farming. The village has a population of approximately 6000 mostly rural farmers. The government Nursery and Primary school are currently using the two room village council hall as a temporal location.

Community Development:
Fair Trade Development to help farmers in poor communities to buy their products such as coffee, honey or cocoa at fair prices and distribute to Fair trade channels in HK and abroad.

Volunteering:
sending volunteers abroad from Hong Kong to Cameroon- Africa. We have send 4 Hong Kong volunteers since 2005 to Cameroon to work for NAVTI Foundation and 5 others medical students have volunteered in other hospitals for field experience. We hope to send more volunteers from Hong Kong to Cameroon in the subsequent years.

Health education:
Promote Health care
in villages, HIV/AIDS, schools etc Health care for the under privileged people is a big challenge and NAVTI Foundation HK shall help projects aimed at improving health care and HIV/AIDS.
